Our Christmas Nativity is taking place on Tuesday the 17th of December in Kilbride church. All the children in Kilbride will be taking part in this nativity. The first to sixth classes will be singing in the choir. The junior and senior infants will be preforming a play that acts out Jesus’s birth. We will all have a fun time putting on this nativity. Practice has begun with the choir learning all the songs to accompany the play. 3rd and 4th class will also be playing two or three songs on the tin whistle on the night. We will keep you all updated on our progress.
This year the children in 5th and 6th class in Kilbride N.S took part in an art competition. It was a lot of fun. Three people won a prize and they will be going to the Ardboyne Hotel. The winners were Brian from 6th class, Leah from 6th class and Zara from 5th class. They are all from Ms. Parkes classroom and are all very good at art. Well done to them all and we hope they have a good time.

Every class did lots of experiments during science week. We practiced all week and on Thursday 14th November all the parents of the children came in to see all of our experiments. All the children did lots of exciting experiments. Science Week was on the 10 -17 November.

Thanks to the pupils and their parents for all their help with the cake sale at Halloween. We raised €766 from our bake sale and the raffle a month ago. The students brought in cakes, cookies and deserts.
We had a Halloween fashion show in Miss Kealey’s room a month ago. The students walked along the tables and then posed at the end.

Futsal is a five – a – side soccer game. 8 girls and 8 boys from 3rd and 4th class took part in this competition this year. The competition took part in Gormanstown College. The girls team consisted of Aishling, Julieann, Alana, Ellen, Emma – Kate, Nicole, Sinead and Eva. The boys team consisted of Kyle, Jack, Liam, Sean, Thomas, Conor, Ross and Ross. Both teams played really well and did Kilbride N.S proud. Well done to both teams!
This week was national science week. This years theme was “Exploring the Xtra – Ordinary”. The children and the staff of Kilbride N.S had a great week during science week. All classes in the school carried out a variety of experiments with their class teacher. On Thursday the 14th of November, from 1pm till 2.15pm, the parents came into the school to see the children carrying out the different experiments. The children also explored the science week website and talked about the various microbes that exist – both good and bad. In some classes the children also took part in a science week quiz! Fun was had by all!
Dave came to the school and held a drum workshop for the day in Kilbride N.S. Each class took part in playing the drums. All the children enjoyed the various activities Dave did with them using the drums and various other percussion instruments. Some classes even got to hear what they sounded like as their teacher recorded them!
