The Parent Teacher Meetings will be held from the 18th - 21st November. The Parent Teacher Meetings slots will be released next week for parents to book to meet the class teacher.

The Celtic Travelling Book Fair will be coming to the school the week of November 18th . The children can bring in money to purchase books if they so wish. If parents wish to purchase on behalf of their children, there will be time allocated for parents to come in and do so.

The Parent’s Association are organising a Clothes Recycling Day on Thursday 14 th November. Bags can be brought into the school and left in the shelter in the yard from Wednesday 13th November. The funds raised will be used by the PA to fund events for the children in the school during the year.

The Shoe Box Appeal leaflets were sent home before the mid-term break. If you wish to donate a
box, please send in the box on or before next Tuesday, 12th November 2024.

The school will be celebrating Science Week next week, Monday the 11th November to Friday the 15th November 2024. There are lots of science fun and activities planned for this week. The children will be working very hard for their Curious Minds Award.

Well done to the boys who participated in the Mini 7s hurling competition on Tuesday. The boys did very
well and should be very proud of themselves. They battled very hard and were unlucky not to continue to the
next round. Many thanks to the parents who helped with the lifts to the game. It is very much appreciated.

SHOEBOX APPEAL -  That time of year again.. Leaflets were sent home with the children prior to the Halloween midterm for Team Hope’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal. We do this every year in Kilbride National School and we always get a great response! This is a great cause and helps makes lots of children happy at Christmas time. Shoeboxes are to be returned to the school by Tuesday, 12th November 2024.

Next week, as a reward for their hard work this term, the teachers have lots of fun Halloween activities planned for the children. There will be a whole school day of Halloween activities next Friday the 25^th of October. The children are asked to wear their Halloween costumes on this day. The teachers and Mrs Murphy are delighted with all of the hard work that has been put in by the children and as a reward for this there will also be no homework next week.

The school will be closed from Monday, 28th October to Friday, 1st November 2024 inclusive. The school will reopen on Monday, 4th November 2024.

The boy’s football team will be playing in the quarter final of the Cumann na mBunscol competition next Wednesday, 23rd October 2024. Our boys are playing against Kilcloon NS. We wish the boys and Mr. Peyton the very best of luck. We know the boys will try their very best next Wednesday and everyone in the school is behind them!
