We’re delighted to let you know that bookings for Sherpa Kids programmes for the 2026/2027 school year are now open at Kilbride National school.

Throughout April, all classes have been celebrating World Autism Month through our whole-school theme, “We All Belong”. The children have taken part in a wide range of activities designed to nurture empathy, understanding, and inclusion across our school community. A key focus has been helping children to appreciate different perspectives and explore different ways of communicating. This gave children valuable insight into alternative ways we can connect, communicate, and understand one another. This morning the whole school put together their links for their infinity chain. We then all came together as a school in silence and made our way out to the Astro pitch and form our very own human infinity sign. To end we also had great fun at our silent disco!! We are extremely proud of the thoughtful way all children have engaged with this theme and the respect they have shown for each other’s experiences throughout the month.

Our annual school fundraiser will take place on Sunday 24th May 2026. This promises to be a fantastic family day out and a wonderful opportunity to come together as a school community. It is also a great chance for families to meet up, socialise, and enjoy the day together. We encourage as many families as possible to join us, whether you take part in the run or simply come along to support and enjoy the atmosphere. A letter was sent home this week with further details. If any families or local businesses would like to sponsor the event, please complete the form provided and return it to the school. We would also greatly appreciate any prize donations from parents for the races. We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to all the families and businesses who have supported our school and children over the years. Your generosity is truly appreciated by everyone in our school community, especially our children.

The Kilbride National School Parents Association would like to invite all Junior Infant parents to a Get to Know You Gathering! We would also like to extend this invitation to any parents of children in Senior Infants, First Class and Second Class who recently joined the school.
We hope that this would be an opportunity for parents to meet up and have a chat without the kiddies! We hope you can put names to faces or faces to names! We hope that this will be a nice opportunity for everyone to chat, ask questions and get to know each other a little more. We know that not everyone has the opportunity to meet at the school in the mornings or afternoons due to work and other commitments. We hope to see lots of parents on in the school. The kettle will be on and there will be goodies!
We are very happy to announce that Drumming Classes with Dave will start in October. The children have always thoroughly enjoyed these engaging and energetic lessons, and they are already looking forward to Dave’s return to school. His sessions are not only fun but also help build rhythm, coordination, and confidence
