Kilbride National School welcomes renowned psychologist and author of “Perfectly Imperfect Parenting” Dr. Mary O’Kane to our school on Monday, 24th February 2025 at 7pm to give a talk on “Raising Resilient Children”. Resilience is key in supporting our young children to cope with the ups and downs that life throws at them – it is what helps them to bounce back from adversity. It helps our children to work towards developing solutions when faced with challenges and gives them the internal self-belief to overcome difficulties. In this seminar, Dr Mary O’Kane offers practical advice on how we can best support our children in becoming more resilient and having greater confidence in their own abilities. See you all on the 24th February at 7pm.
The children are very busy getting ready for their Christmas performances. The performances will take place on Tuesday 17th December. Our wonderful Sixth Class in Kilbride National School! They have been selected by the Ombudsman for Children’s Office to act as ambassadors for this school year. Only two schools in the country were selected and we are delighted that our sixth class were chosen. They have always been a great class and everyone in the school is very proud of every one of them!
Arianna Walsh , Claire McGreal and Emily Brennan were the Ombudsman for Children Representatives who came to Kilbride NS today to meet with their new Ambassadors and to discuss with them their very important role. The sixth class have been invited to attend the very prestigious Child Talks event in the Helix later this month. This is a very important annual event that takes place to celebrate and mark World Children’s Day. The children are really looking forward to this event and they will keep you informed about all their work as Ambassadors this year. Congratulations to Mia, Luke, Cathal, Agostino, Ailbhe, Noah, Eddie, Isla, Macy and Blaithín on this great achievement. It could not have happened to a nicer class, and I know they will be great Ambassadors!
It is that time of the year again! The teachers are dusting the tinsel off and are getting into the Christmas spirit! Our Christmas Plays will take place on Tuesday 17th December. This is one of our favourite days of the year and the children really enjoy the day so keep this date in your diary!
