Our school is going green tomorrow, Wednesday the 15th March 2023, in honour of St. Patrick’s Day! The children can wear green to school, and we are really looking forward to seeing all the green hats and hairbands! The children can bring a treat to school this Wednesday.
For today’s celebrations for Seachtain na Gaeilge the whole school were split up into teams and they went on a Siúlóid Seamróg! The teams had to go around and find the shamrocks which had Irish words written on them. When they collected all the words they then had to rearrange them into an Irish sentence… Well done to all the children. As you can see from the photos they had great fun taking part!
We have been very busy celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge in Kilbride National School. As part of our Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations we performed the "Haka as Gaeilge" today, Monday the 13th March 2023, as a whole school. Well done to all the girls and boys who did a wonderful performance and above all we had great fun in preparing for our whole school performance today.
First Holy Communion will take place on Saturday, 6th May 2023.
Many thanks to Gary Costello and the Stephen Leonard Memorial Cycle committee for organising the First Aid Training for the children in fifth and sixth class. The training was excellent and very important for the children to know and learn about the importance of CPR. Many thanks to the committee and especially to the Leonard family for providing this training for our children.
The children in fourth, fifth and sixth class are participating in a 3-week series of Well-Being Webinars. This three-part series aims to help children to develop their confidence, well-being, and resilience. It supports children to reflect on their strengths and talents, on what it means to have a positive mindset and helps them to create a sense of self-belief.
Well done to all the children who entered the Texaco Art Competition. The entries were posted last week. Everyone was amazed by the very high standard of entries. Well done to all the boys and girls 👏🎨🖼
The children in sixth class will be celebrating their Confirmation on Friday 24th March in St. Patrick’s Church in Trim. The ceremony will take place at 3pm.
Best of luck to Mark, Roisín, Lauren and Eddie who are representing our school in the next round of the Credit Union Quiz Competition. This great team were the winners of the U11 competition in the first round and they received a lovely surprise last week when the trophy arrived to the school. The school’s name was engraved on the trophy, and it is on display in the front hall of the school.
