Outdoor Classroom

Most of the children have had a chance to use our outdoor classroom at some stage during the month of September (when it eventually decided to stop raining!). It is a great place for the children to come outside and learn. The children love going out to the outdoor classroom and we hope to get a lot more use out of it before the winter sets in!! The children are so lucky to have this resource in the school where on a dry day the teacher can decide to leave the indoor classroom and take our learning outside.

GAA Five Star Flag

This year our school has signed up for a new initiative. Our school is participating in the GAA Five Star Flag Award. In consultation with the Meath Development Officer, Christine O’ Brien, we have devised a plan to ensure that all children in our school participate in GAA activities throughout the school year and not just the children who play on the school teams. Part of this plan involves Christine coming to the school and doing GAA skills with the children from Junior Infants to Second Class. Next week, another Meath Development GAA coach will be coming to the school to do camogie and hurling training with the children in Third Class up to Sixth Class. The children are all very excited about this!
