Design and Make Projects - How Everyday Items Work

The children in 5th and 6th Class got stuck into their Design and Make Projects.

We planned, designed, made and evaluated each project using everyday items online via our learning platform Seesaw.

Click on the photos and video below to see some of our amazing work!

Junior Infants - Design and Make

The children in Junior Infants engaged with the very tricky task of creating 3D pumpkins.

First, we brainstormed what materials we would need.

We decided that glue wouldn't dry quick enough to hold the paper in place. We thought about using thumb tacks, Blue Tack or maybe even Sellotape, discussing the pros and cons of these materials. In the end we used card, scissors, split pins and glue to create our 3D pumpkins.

It was difficult to make sure the strips of paper maintained a 'pumpkin shape', while we worked in teams to attach the split pins in the correct place!

We had lots of fun![/vc_column_text][us_gallery ids="6995,6994,6993,6992,6991" columns="2" indents="1"][/vc_column][/vc_row]
