Fifth and sixth class have been working hard in all areas this year and especially in relation to the new Primary Language Curriculum. We have put huge emphasis on using the Irish language informally (Gaeilge néamhfhoirmiúl) throughout the school day in our room. We have a new 'Word of the Day' and a new 'Focal an Lae' every day to improve and widen our vocabulary in both languages. Below are some examples of the new Language curriculum at work in our room, including a 'Word Bank' and a 'Stór Focal' for any new vocabulary we meet throughout the school day.[/vc_column_text][us_gallery ids="5608,5607,5606,5605,5604" columns="6"][vc_column_text]

World Mental Health Day

To celebrate World Mental Health Day on Thursday October 10th 2019, the children in 5th and 6th class enjoyed a day of wearing their own comfortable clothes to school, they had no writing homework and they were encouraged to reduce screen-time usage for this day. They also enjoyed playing board games together in the afternoon. A great day celebrating our well-being was had by all!
