School Transport Policy

KILBRIDE NATIONAL SCHOOL

Ní neart go cur le chéile

School Transport

This policy was formulated by the Board of Management of Kilbride National School in consultation with parents.

Private Bus Transport

The arrangements of private bus operators and their conditions of carrying children are a matter between the operators and the parents who employ them to transport children to and from school.

On school outings

Bus companies hired by the school for educational outings must be fully insured. Buses have safety belts fitted. Teachers will endeavour to ensure that all pupils wear their seat belts.

All bus drivers must be Garda Vetted and certificates must be submitted to the school on request.

The following rules apply to conduct on buses.

  • Only two children will be allowed per seat.
  • Children must remain seated at all times.
  • Children may not eat or drink on a bus / coach unless given permission to do so by their teacher.
  • Children must enter and exit a bus / coach quietly and in an orderly manner.
  • Children who consistently disobey the above rules will not be permitted to travel with the school on trips.

This policy was reviewed in the academic year 2018/2019 and will be reviewed again in the academic year 2019/2020.
