Term:1 in Senior Infants
Senior Infants had a busy first term. They have enjoyed table top activities for Maths and Literacy. They have been continuing to work on their phonics and had fun using playdough to revise and make new sounds, as well as words before practicing to write them. They really enjoyed Math's week especially the maths trail, classroom activities and taking part in an online Maths quiz.. There had been lots of time outside also for PE, Skip Around the World Challenge and weekly. The class were very excited to have drumming back, which they have been really enjoying but were super excited to celebrate Halloween. It was a busy but fun time for all.

Halloween in Senior Infants
Senior Infants had lots of fun preparing for and celebrating Halloween. They learnt lots of new poems and songs in English and Irish, which they enjoyed acting out. On the last day of term 1, they came in dressed up in their fantastic Halloween costumes and played lots of games, danced to Halloween songs as well as made Halloween decorations to take home. It was a fun day for everyone

October in Senior Infants
Senior Infants have had a very busy October so far. They got to vote for their student council representative in the first week and have been active outside doing The Skip Around the World challenge. All have really enjoyed learning about Autumn this month. They had fun outside on a scavenger hunt looking for signs of Autumn. They made lots of lovely art, creating their Autumn trees by drawing their hands for the tree trunk and painted the leaves using broccoli stalks as a paint brush. They also helped make an Autumn tree for our notice board using their handprints, which they coloured and cut out for the leaves of the tree. Senior Infants made Autumn wreaths too to bring home as reminder of this month's theme. There has been lots of learning new rhymes and songs such as Duilleoga Deasa Deasa in Irish to name but a few. In English and History, they have been looking at the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears as well as The Little Red Hen, which they had lots of fun acting out in drama. Many brought lots of things in to remind us of Autumn such as conkers, acorns and leaves for our theme table that we got to look at and chat about each day.
