Cricket in Kilbride

April 4, 2014adminActive Flag

Cricket is Ireland’s oldest organised sport and is becoming increasingly popular in Ireland with the National team qualifying for the three World Cups and four 20 / 20 World Cups since 2007. The increased popularity has led to the number of Primary Schools playing in the Greater Dublin area increasing from 3 to 50. As a result of the success of our National team and the growing popularity of the sport, a coaching coordinator from North Kildare Cricket Club has been organised to visit our school next Monday the 7th April to carry out a fun introductory session with the boys and girls from third to sixth classes. We are really looking forward to this visit as it gives us an opportunity to be exposed to a brand new sport in Kilbride National School.
