Fifth and sixth class took part in mile three of our 2 mile marathon challenge today. It was a cold autumn morning but we were up for the challenge.
The boys and girls in fifth and sixth class took part in our whole school student council elections. Many thanks to everyone for taking part in this very exciting day for democracy in our school.
A huge congratulations to al of the boys and girls in fifth and sixth class for all of the hard work that they put into their amazing projects.
On Thursday the 14th of November the Intel judge Mr Stephen Roche very kindly came to our school to judge the projects. He was incredibly impressed by the fantastic standard achieved by all of our students.
A special congratulations to Áine F. and Robyn who were the overall winners with their project on hearing and sound. They will represent Kilbride National School at the regional finals.
Following an application process the sixth class pupils of Kilbride National School have been chosen to be the Ambassadors for the Ombudsman for Children. They are only one of two schools in the country. We have been leaning all about Children's Rights and what the Ombudsman for Children actually does to help children in Ireland. Here is our journey so far....
Visit 1: The OCO team visited our our school to meet our School Ambassadors for an introduction on the work of the Office and for a workshop on Children’s Rights.
Visit 2: Our School Ambassadors were invited to attend Child Talks 2024 at the Helix, DCU on World Children’s Day, November 20th.

Visit 4: The OCO team will return to your school before school end June 2025 to present your OCO School Ambassadors Certificate
