Welcome back to school to our Fourth and Fifth class boys and girls! We look forward to a year full of fun, leaning and laughter!

Fourth Class enjoyed celebrating Maths Week. We participated in a whole school maths trail and enjoyed answering riddles and various maths challenges and games! Here are some photos of (maths themed) games the children played for maths week.

Fourth and Fifth Class have been busy learning about Vincent Van Gough and his life and works. The children produced their own versions of his famous painting 'The Bedroom'.
The boys and girls created clay Christmas decorations last week and painted them today in our art lesson.
The children enjoyed a visit today from Aisling Dempsey TD. Our sixth class pupils are Ambassadors for the Ombudsman for Children and as part of their work this year, Aisling was invited to our school to talk to the children about how everyone has a voice. and her experience to date in politics. The children enjoyed this talk and asked many excellent questions were asked.
For art today the children used paint and mixing colour to create a winter scene featuring a winter moon and tree silhouette. The children produced some wonderful winter work!
The children learned all about capacity last week in maths. They enjoyed the practical elements of these lessons and showed great estimation and measuring skills.,
Fourth and Fifth Class have been learning about Cinquain Poetry, its format and how to create their own poem. Below are some examples of their great work!
For P.E. last week we worked on our soccer skills of dribbling and shot taking. The children used new P.E. equipment to enhance their enjoyment of their lesson. All the boys and girls had great fun!
On Thursday 30/1/25 the Ombudsman for Children will visit our school. In preparation for this visit, the children have been learning all about the rights of children in Ireland and also about what the Ombudsman for Children's Office does.
