Fifth and Sixth Class were very busy on our first day back to school drawing up our class contract and writing their own essential agreements. We spoke about the Bí Cinéalta policy in the school and how we are going to treat each other this year. Well done to all the boys and girls coming up with positive ways in which we can treat each other and how we want to be treated ourselves. We want school to be a happy and safe place for everyone.
Fifth and Sixth Class have been very busy making their very own wheels of fortune. We had great fun in class with them on Monday, 31st August where the children turned into fortune tellers and read each other's futures. Well done to all the boys and girls!

Fifth and Sixth have worked very hard this week at completing the writing genre of recount writing. They wrote all about their summer holidays. Well done to all the boys and girls for all their hard work!
The children in Fifth and Sixth Class had a great time today playing cooperative games during our PE lesson on Thursday, 3rd September 2026. Our favourite game was where we had to get the hula hoop the whole way around the circle without breaking hands! Lots of healthy competition!!
The children in Fifth and Sixth Class had great fun completing their Little Red Riding Hood diary entries. They got to pretend to be any character from the Little Red Riding Hood story and write a creative diary entry from that character's perspective. They were so entertaining to read! Well done to all the boys and girls for all their hard work.
The children in Fifth and Sixth had a great time on Monday during their drumming lesson with Dave. They were excellent at completing the various rhythms that Dave taught them and they had so much fun during the lesson. Well done to all the boys and girls and we cannot wait to welcome Dave back next week!

The children of Sixth Class has a great visit to Athboy Community School on Friday, 18th September 2026. We hot to sample Home Economics and Woodwork. The children were very busy making pizza and mobile phone holders. The children had a great day. Well done to all the boys and girls!

Fifth and Sixth Class went and voted in the Student Council Elections today, Tuesday the 29th September 2026. Votes are being counted and we await the results at who will make the Student Council from our classroom.
The children in Fifth and Sixth Class worked really hard on their entries for the Credit Union Art Competition. They are just amazing! Well done to all the boys and girls on their hard work.
The children in Fourth, Fifth and Sixth enjoyed a trip to the Swift Theatre for Candlelit Tales as part of the Children’s Book Festival. We all really enjoyed the Irish Myths and Legends today! Thank you to everyone in the Swift Theatre for having us today.
We had our Student Council elections in Kilbride National School on Tuesday. We were busy counting all the votes and we are happy to announce our Student Council representatives for Fifth and Sixth Class for 2026/2027. Congratulations to Christian from Fifth Class, Emma - Jane who is the Treasurer of the Student Council, Isabelle who is the Secretary of the Student Council and Oisín who will be the Student Council's President. They will work along side Jaxon, Max, Senan, Sam, Joanna, Ollie, Naomi, Sadie, Aaron and Blaithín during the coming school year. We cannot wait to hear about all their ideas for Kilbride National School.
We were all celebrating when Troy brought in his tricycle on Friday. We cannot wait to get started now on our cycle safety.

The children in Fifth and Sixth Class have been busy today, Monday the 12th October 2026, learning all about Halloween in Irish. We learnt lots of new vocabulary and the meanings of these words and now we have a lovely display of Halloween words in both English and Irish on our word wall in the classroom.
