Fifth and Sixth Class were very busy on our first day back to school drawing up our class contract and writing their own essential agreements. We spoke about the Bí Cinéalta policy in the school and how we are going to treat each other this year. Well done to all the boys and girls coming up with positive ways in which we can treat each other and how we want to be treated ourselves. We want school to be a happy and safe place for everyone.
Fifth and Sixth Class have been very busy making their very own wheels of fortune. We had great fun in class with them on Monday, 31st August where the children turned into fortune tellers and read each other's futures. Well done to all the boys and girls!

Fifth and Sixth have worked very hard this week at completing the writing genre of recount writing. They wrote all about their summer holidays. Well done to all the boys and girls for all their hard work!
The children in Fifth and Sixth Class had a great time today playing cooperative games during our PE lesson on Thursday, 3rd September 2026. Our favourite game was where we had to get the hula hoop the whole way around the circle without breaking hands! Lots of healthy competition!!
The children in Fifth and Sixth Class had great fun completing their Little Red Riding Hood diary entries. They got to pretend to be any character from the Little Red Riding Hood story and write a creative diary entry from that character's perspective. They were so entertaining to read! Well done to all the boys and girls for all their hard work.
The children in Fifth and Sixth had a great time on Monday during their drumming lesson with Dave. They were excellent at completing the various rhythms that Dave taught them and they had so much fun during the lesson. Well done to all the boys and girls and we cannot wait to welcome Dave back next week!

The children of Sixth Class has a great visit to Athboy Community School on Friday, 18th September 2026. We hot to sample Home Economics and Woodwork. The children were very busy making pizza and mobile phone holders. The children had a great day. Well done to all the boys and girls!
