Second Class really enjoyed learning all about their rights in preparation for the visit next week of the Ombudsman for Children.
We were as busy as Santa's elves in the lead up to Christmas in Second Class. We decorated cookies, did some fabulous art and worked really hard at our Christmas play, We even found time to do some festive PE games!
It was a week to remember in Kilbride NS! We thoroughly enjoyed visiting 3rd and 1st Class to see their experiments and also hosting the class to show ours!
We played group games, had a table quiz and soaked up everything Maths related for the week that was in it! It was fantastic!
We had a great time in the lead up to Halloween in our class from dressing up to learning about the history of Halloween to doing art-We were ready for the full week off to celebrate!
As part of Meath Book Festival, the children in second class were so lucky to have a zoom call with Author Paddy Donnelly this morning. Paddy read 2 of his stories to the class and also did a fun draw along with them! We had a blast!
Our Artist we learned all about this month was Vincent Van Gogh. We listened to the story 'Katie's Starry Night' and then created our own Starry Night pictures using oil pastels. We were very pleased with how they turned out!
We had a great time last week preparing for and voting in our student council elections. The class made speeches, posters and then cast their votes! I was very impressed with all the candidates and well done to our student council representative!
We were all thrilled to be back for another exciting year together in Kilbride NS! Here are a few snippets from our first month back. They include; a visit from a mannequin, some fun in the sun reading in the outdoor classroom and some Autumn draw-along fun!
